Course Description
In this intensive course, you’ll cover the entire Beginners (A1) syllabus in 10 weeks.
You’ll meet twice a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays – for 90 minutes, totalling 30 hours of class time.
This course is perfect for those who are new to Spanish, or coming back after an extended break.
Over the full 30 hours, you’ll progress to A2 (pre-intermediate), and will be comfortable communicating in basic phrases, as well as understanding slow spoken Spanish.
You’ll cover essential grammar, learn important phrases to communicate, and acquire essential vocabulary to talk about common topics.
You’ll start to grow your confidence in speaking Spanish, in a comfortable, intimate atmosphere with up to just 4 other students.

What will I learn?
You’ll progress from a complete beginner (or a rusty one!) to an early Pre-intermediate level (A2).
What does that mean, exactly?
You’ll be able to hold a 10 minute conversation about a range of basic topics.
You’ll have mastered many of the basics, and will be able to handle yourself in a wide variety of common situations:
- Greet your Spanish speaking friends and family, and use small talk beyond cómo estás
- Feel comfortable ordering in bars and restaurants (and get what you ordered!)
- Talk about your likes and dislikes
- Describe your daily routine, using common verbs and the present tense
- Much, much, more.

What are the classes like?
Our Spanish Academy takes a spoken-first approach.
Why?
Because so many of our students struggle with speaking. They often come from courses with a more academic, “copy the rules and do the exercises” approach. They might have strong grammar and a good vocabulary, but they just can’t put it all together.
That’s because most other courses treat Spanish as something to be studied, like a kind of academic object.
We treat Spanish as a living, breathing, real method of communication which opens the door to over a billion people.
You’ll be speaking (albeit slowly, with mistakes) from day one, so you’ll develop confidence and fluency right from the start of your journey.

Of course, there’s plenty of homework too – we’ll keep you busy between lessons to ensure that you reinforce what’s covered in class.
