For when your tongue is behind your brain

Know more Spanish than you can say? Our classes are built to close that gap.

  • Fluency first

Most of every class is spent speaking. Grammar is there to help you say what you mean, not the other way round.

  • Small, intimate groups

Six students at most, so everyone speaks a lot. You get to know your group, and your teacher gets to know you.

  • Built around real situations

Each course is organised around things you do with Spanish, like telling a story, giving advice or making plans.

  • Try it risk-free

Students look forward to class

Simply put, these are the best classes I’ve had, and I’ve had many. I love how patient our teacher is, and I don’t fear classes, I look forward to them.
Holly B.Pre-intermediate student
The conversational classes are an outstanding way to obtain practice in using the language in an authentic manner. My teacher and classmates are enthusiastic and supportive, pushing me to use the language and think on my feet.
Joe MaruszczakUpper-intermediate student
The courses offered me native speaking teachers to learn from and listen to, as well as small class sizes to feel comfortable making mistakes and bouncing back.

Inside a course

Ten weeks with the same teacher and the same small group. Here’s what a typical course looks like, and how it feels along the way.

Weeks 1–2

Settling in

In class

A relaxed first class to meet your group. Then you’re straight into speaking about familiar things, and your teacher gets to know what you need.

Between classes

Say hi in your group’s forum. The first recording and homework go up there.

How it feels

A bit nervous at first, then relieved: everyone’s in the same boat.

Weeks 3–5

Finding your voice

In class

New language inside real situations, like telling a story or giving advice. Lots of talking in pairs and as a group, with personal feedback.

Between classes

Homework and materials from your teacher. Rewatch a class if you missed it, and ask questions any time.

How it feels

You’re translating less in your head, and speaking more than you expected.

Weeks 6–8

Stretching yourself

In class

Longer conversations and discussions on new topics. Your teacher helps you iron out the mistakes that keep coming back.

Between classes

Chat with your classmates in Spanish in the forum and try out what you’ve learned.

How it feels

Conversations last longer, and when you get stuck, you find another way to say it.

Weeks 9–10

Bringing it together

In class

Conversations that bring together everything you’ve practised, so you can hear how far you’ve come.

Between classes

We keep you a place in the next course along, so you can carry straight on.

How it feels

Speaking Spanish starts to feel normal, and you’re ready for the next course.

Between classes: your group’s private forum

Your class carries on between lessons, in a space just for your group.

  • Class recordings, to watch any time during the course
  • Materials and homework from your teacher
  • Chat and practise with your classmates
  • Message us whenever you need anything

The change you’ll notice

Week 1

You understand a lot, but when it’s your turn to speak, the words won’t come out.

Confidence: low
Fluency: low
Week 10

You can hold a real conversation, think on your feet, and keep going when you don’t know a word.

Confidence: high
Fluency: high

Questions

How do the courses work?

Most courses are ten live classes on Zoom, once a week, with a native Spanish teacher and up to six students. Courses follow on from each other, so you can keep going level after level.

How do I choose the right course?

The easiest way is a free 20-minute chat. Tell us where you are with your Spanish and we’ll recommend the right course.

Can I join after a course has started?

No. Booking closes the day before the first class, so the whole group starts together. There’s always another course coming up.

What if it isn’t right for me?

Come to the first class. If it’s not for you, tell us and you get a full refund. Or, if another group would suit you better, we’ll move you to an upcoming course for free.

What if I miss a class?

Every class is recorded, always with the group’s permission, and the recording goes up in your group’s private forum, so you can catch up any time during the course. Recordings are never shared outside your group, and they’re deleted when the course ends.

What time are the classes for me?

All classes follow US Eastern Time (ET). Each course card also shows the time where you are, and the course page flags any weeks when a clock change moves a class by an hour for you.

How much does it cost?

Most courses are $199 for all ten classes, or £159 if you’d rather pay in pounds. Advanced courses are priced on their own pages.
