Lis

Hi everyone, it’s Lis speaking, we’re currently in the episode number – I don’t really know, Rob is the one counting really, and well, I just didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to talk with Mariana Alegría (laughing) That’s really my last name!

Lis

(laughing) No one’s going to believe it, your last name is Alegría! (meaning joy) And, it describes you so well. Aww, thank you (laughing) okay, well, this audio came as a result of those conversations that us women have from time to time, girly talks along with cocktails, and we wanted to share our point of view of Latino men and European men, because it seems to be an interesting subject (laughing) So, then, she is going to tell us, more or less, about Mexican men, how they are when they want to start a relationship or hit on a woman, that’s how we say in Colombia, hit on a woman, and it means, like, seduce her, and basically, how they are. So, okay, I will then share my point of view of how it is in Colombia. And after that we will take a look at the situation on the other continent.

Mariana

In Mexico we say “to come onto a woman” (laughing) like, when a man comes on to a woman

Lis

ah, sounds good (laughing) okay, well, although it is true that we should avoid generalising things…

Mariana

of course, we are looking at a certain different stereotype and there are always exceptions, but I think that the men in Mexico are daring, and I like how they are because on occasions they are very spontaneous and if they like something, you can clearly see when they like something or when they don’t like something, they love to dance, they’re really gentle, and passionate about everything, and that’s a very good thing in a relationship.

Lis

bueno y ¿de lo negativo?

Right, and the negative things?

Mariana

The negative, I think is, since they are very passionate, they get carried away by a moment in time, and then unfortunately that doesn’t last long, and when they are in a relationship, or when a couple starts having problems in a relationship, they tend to, they tend to let the problems happen, they tend to give up because their love wasn’t enough or because they realise that they got carried away by a fling, or a moment, but that the person wasn’t good enough for them, it happens, I don’t want to generalize, because there are people that are really committed, but I think that us Latinos are very passionate

Lis

sí como del arranque del momento

Yes, at the start of everything.
