Bogotá Immersion 2023/4
Spend one week with us in Bogotá, Colombia, with 100% of your time speaking, learning, and living in Spanish!
Over 7 days, we’ll get under the skin of Bogotá, getting to know its people and places. In a small, intimate, group, we’ll hear from different people and perspectives, visit its iconic sights, and (most importantly!) taste the finest the city has to offer.
You’ll stay in one of our favourite boutique hotels in the city, right in the centre of the exciting “Zona G” – Gastronomic zone. We’ll have daily lessons and talks, and trips to a wide range of activities and experiences.
Best (or worst?!) of all, you’ll hang out with Lis and Rob for a week!
What we’ll do
Each morning, we’ll start the day (after breakfast, naturally) with a 90 minute Spanish class. Then, we’ll have a guest speaker come to tell us their story. We’re lining up diverse people to speak to us, offering perspectives from every angle of Colombian life and history.
We’ll then head out to lunch together. Bogotá has the most exciting gastronomic offering in Colombia by far, there’s simply no competition (sorry, Medellín!). Each day, we’ll try something different – from high end, award-winning restaurants, to local market food. Eating here is an experience…
From lunch, we’ll then head out to explore a different part of the city, with varied activities to take us into dinner and the evening.
We’ve been exploring Bogotá for the last 18 months, and are ready to bring you the best this incredible city has to offer!
Who this is for
You’ll get the most out of this if you are at least an intermediate (B1) level.
This is an immersion trip, so we’ll strictly be speaking Spanish 100% of the time. You’ll be interacting with native speakers constantly, and pushing your Spanish to new heights.
Therefore, this trip is not for Spanish beginners.
In a word, everything! Here’s what we’ll include in the price:
- Boutique hotel stay (minus 2am mini-bar raids!) for 6 nights
- All meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks
- Spanish classes for entire time
- All experiences and activities
- All transport
- Airport pick up and drop off (if required)
Here’s what we won’t cover:
- Flights in and out
- Travel insurance (highly recommended)
When is this?
We don’t have a confirmed date. We’re currently registering interest, and will select dates within the next 9 months or so based on interest.
I’m interested. What do I do now?
Click the “Register your interest” button, and let us know what dates you can make. We’ll be in touch with you to let you know more details, and organise a quick chat.
How many people are coming on the trip?
We’ll have a maximum group number of just 8 people.
I’d love to visit Colombia, but I’m worried about safety…
Colombia, and Bogotá, have a reputation, there’s no doubt! However, the vast majority of visitors to this amazing country have absolutely no problems. Colombia has changed dramatically over the last 20 years, and due to the ongoing peace agreement, problems with rebel armed groups are quickly becoming a thing of the past.
As with many big cities, petty crime and theft can occur in Bogotá – however, we’ll be visiting the safest parts of the city, and will be travelling together as a group. We’ll also have an in-depth safety briefing on day one.
Is one week in Colombia enough?
Frankly, no! We’d recommend taking an additional week, and visiting another part of the country (like the Caribbean, or the coffee country). We’ll happily provide recommendations!
How much will this cost?
We are still finalising all details. However, we estimate this will cost between $2,400 – $2,700. Bear in mind, that price includes hotel stay, all meals, transport and everything in between (see above), but not flights.
